“There's nothing like Groningen”

I don't know if this slogan was thought of with the photographer in mind, but for us it is certainly true that this area offers an enormous variety of photographic possibilities. The landscape consists in many places of very geometric lines and lines. That allows for very careful compositions where you can practice various techniques to your heart's content.

Features of the workshop

The workshop is suitable for the more experienced photographers . The use of shutter speeds versus aperture is familiar territory for you. You are interested in increasing your knowledge regarding technique as well as composition. This weekend is intensive but many subjects are discussed (see below but also in consultation with the participants)

Small group of 3 - 4 participants . (It is possible to book this workshop with only 2 people or completely private . (Contact us for the possibilities and prices)

Intensive but educational

Topics that may be discussed.

Groningen

is an empty but extremely interesting province. Especially the northern part that borders the Wadden Sea is characterized by large empty fields, ditches, salt marshes and spectacular skies. As a landscape photographer you can fully enjoy yourself here. In all honesty, we must say that in addition to northern Groningen we also 'take in' a piece of Northern Friesland.

During this weekend we will stay 2 nights in the small village of Pieterburen. A good base for our weekend here. Because we are a very small group there is a lot of personal attention. In this way everyone can ask his or her specific questions and we can go into more depth in terms of photographic subjects than perhaps usual.

Of course, there is also attention for those who are still at the beginning of a photographic 'career' and do not have much experience. For those who are already well informed about the basic techniques, we will delve deeper into the subject. Matters such as Pre-visualization, composition theory and the careful post-processing of the images taken are discussed.

We will also delve into a relatively new and unusual phenomenon in digital photography, ISO invariance. A good understanding of this gives you a great deal of freedom in landscape photography, among other things. Getting to know your own camera well and investigating its (im)possibilities are part of this workshop.

If there is enough interest, we can also focus on evening or night photography. (Ice and weather permitting of course)

During the weekend we will visit a number of different locations that are of course very worthwhile photographically.
